The Lilac Review was a ground-breaking, Government-backed independent review that explored the barriers faced by Disabled entrepreneurs across the UK.
Led by Small Business Britain, and co-chaired by Unhidden founder, Victoria Jenkins, the Review brought together Disabled founders, business organisations, corporates, academics and policymakers.
Over 18 months, the Lilac Review examined how Disabled people start, run and grow businesses, and identified the structural, financial and systemic barriers that limit opportunity, from inaccessible support programmes and digital tools, to gaps in finance, confidence, networks and policy.
The Lilac Review revealed that Disabled entrepreneurs face significant and avoidable barriers, but also that they bring huge innovation, resilience and economic contribution.
Its findings now underpin the work of the LILAC Centre, ensuring that Disabled entrepreneurs continue to be supported, represented and heard.
The Review laid the foundation for long-term change. The LILAC Centre builds on that work, turning insight into action through research, incubation programmes, partnerships and lived-experience leadership.
